DEVIL BE GONE IN JESUS NAME

 

James 4: 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Submitting to God means that we are to trust Him in all His ways. We are to put all our faith in Him and immerse our selves into all of His truths. We need to abandon our selfish pride and trust that God knows what’s best for us and has given us everything we need.

 

         So that, when the devil sends temptation our way we will have the capability to resist the devil. And as we resist the devil he will have no choice but to flee, because he will see that we belong to the army of the living God. As we take a stand against the desires of the flesh, which is where the devil will attempt to atack us the most, and seek after that which builds the Spirit of God that dwells within us we will gain victory over the temptations of the devil and he will flee. There would be no reason for him to stay if he is unsuccessful.

 

1 Peter 5: 8, 9 Be sober; be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

 

         When I think of a lion I think of an animal that knows how to hunt. That is ruthless and unforgiving and knows the best times in which to bring down their prey. And if the devil seeks after us the same way then we need to be protected and guarded. We need to resist him and we need to know that anything coming from the devil is of no use for us what so ever, and is only designed to destroy us.

So how do we be sober and vigilant and steadfast in our faith? By being discilined and self controlled, by thinking rationally and not foolishly. We must stay alert and keep our selves on gaurd at all times..

         Heres the bottom line, anything that doesn't aline itself with God's holy standards is wrong and shouldn't be taken lightly. We need to be ready for attacks and we need to be prepared by knowing the word of God so that we can recognize the enemy when he is attempting to come against us. Jesus used the word of God when He was tempted by the devil when He was in the wilderness, and we also should use that same example.

 

Jesus overcame this world and since His Spirit dwells within us then we to have that same strength. He who is in us is greater then he who is in the world. So when the devil comes to attack us we should be able to overcome. The only way we won't is if we don't want to. If we bring the devils ways into our lives they will destroy us, there is no doubt, what we sow we shall reap and if we dance in the realms of ungoddly behavior we will get burned. On the other hand, if we partake in the truths of God and His word and APPLY HIS WORD'S IN OUR LIVES then we will be protected and unspotted from this world.

 

         When the devil tries to come after you turn to God, when the devil tries to get into your thoughts, praise God. Don't give the devil any foot hold on you whats so ever. Take control of your flesh in the name of Jesus and feed your Spirit and clothe yourself in Christ Jesus and the devil will flee. In all your ways acknowledge God and He will direct your paths. It doesn't matter what your going through or what is coming against you, if you have Christ then you have the power to overcome, you have the power to resist the devil and he will flee.
